This past Thursday,
24 players, one player's sister and one player's brother came out to do three hours of volunteer work for the Northern Illinois Foods Bank in St Charles.
 The volunteers split into two groups and broke down bulk random cereal boxes and breakfast bars into four- and 10-pound cases for delivery to food bank stores around northern Illinois.
Over the three-hour period, the groups boxed about 4,000 lbs of cereal and loaded them onto 15 pallets for delivery around the area. It was hard work, but very worthwhile, and a well-suited effort for our Club.
The following players and siblings participated: Will De Bord, Ross and Jake Devault, Ben Dvorak, Chad and Amy Ellis, Jim Ingold, Trace Evans, Grant Ferowich, Colin Haley, George Huston, Cooper Jones, Andrew Jurewicz, Pat Killeen, Pat Lefelstein, Stephen Link, Pat McGushin, Dan Morawski, Matt O'Brien, Austin Patrick, Mitch Potts, Billy Rawson, Mitch Reilly, Marcus Stammen, Brian Sullivan, Spencer Swarts and Tyler Thomas. The group was supervised, and the event organized, by Board member Gregg Dvorak.
The Club will again participate, on a smaller scale, in July or August. Watch for details. |
