A semifinal loss doesn't dim the brilliance of another remarkable season
How remarkable? Let us count the ways.
For the fourth year in a row, StC reached the penultimate. Final Four round of the IHSLA playoffs.
For the third season in the past four, StC was crowned undefeated DuPage Conference champions. The team's conference record over those four seasons: 29-1.
The squad's 18 wins ties the 2007 team's
victory total, and is second only to the Club mark set by 2003's 20-win team.
StC's three losses are the fewest in the 11 years since schedules expanded to current levels -- again tied only by the 2003 team, whose .867 winning percentage also is the only mark to trump the 2010 team's .857 percentage.
National lacrosse rating website
Laxpower.com ranked StC as the no. 2 or no. 3 Illinois Class A team almost all year, and at times had StC in the top slot. The team's power rating of 96.45 is well above the mark set by previous StC teams.
Laxpower also notes that StC's average goals scored per game (11.57) and average allowed (5.62) rank second in the state, as does the margin of victory (5.95).
ISHLA coaches awarded All-American, All-State, All-Conference and Senior All-Star honors to eight StC players.
And NCAA coaches recruited eight 2010 seniors to D1, D2 and D3 programs, making this the most highly recruited group in Club history, on one of our most accomplished teams.

On April 29, the Club saluted its twelve seniors and their parents in a ceremony preceding the Varsity's 18-2 win over Geneva in the Stadium at St. Charles North High School.

Can you guess the secret identity of
our young Super Heroes? Here's a hint:

Another Spring, another Spring Break on the road for the Varsity.
Over the past several years, the Varsity has voyaged to St. Louis, Charlotte, Dallas and now Louisville, seeking to test itself against top-flight competition and to team-build and -bond for the coming in-state season ahead.
For links to photo galleries of much of the action, please see the gallery links above.
