StC Seniors Shine in State All-Star Game

Directed by their game coach to "have fun, be aggressive and score 20," the Blue All-Star team, featuring five StC Seniors, beat the White All-Stars 13-5 at Norris Stadium at St Charles East last Thursday evening.
"It was a great night for St. Charles Lacrosse and a very nice way to bring the IHSLA 2007 season to an end," said StC Head Coach Andy Thompson.
"All five seniors represented our team very well and performed at a high level against some of the top competition in the state of Illinios."
Thomas Feicco, Andy Forsell and Conor Hamilton all started, and CJ Nemec and Dylan Ward entered the game soon thereafter.
Conor put in three goals in a furious 60-second span in the third quarter, and Thomas scored in the first and third quarters (the latter on a CJ assist). And in the final minute, Blue Coach Rob Snyder (of Loyola) put the StC attack line in to finish.

With 0:20 to go, Dylan took a pass from Conor and scored, and a split-second after the final horn, Thomas converted a pass from Dylan.
"Going into the game," added Coach Thompson, "I was hoping to see one of our attackman put a goal in or get off a pretty assist. As it ended up, I was ecstatic and proud, but not surprised.  They just did what they had done all year long."
CJ looked like his "usual self" on the field, Coach Thompson said. "He played as well as I would have expected and had a very nice assist later in the game."
At LSM and close defense,
Andy Forsell added a couple of takeaways, ground balls and clears. "It was great to see him come out and attack any offensive player that had the ball," Coach Thompson said. "I was proud of the confidence he has built up. He won't back down from anybody, even against the best players in the state.
"Each of these seniors have put in four years of work and loyalty to St. Charles Lacrosse and have been a huge part of helping take our program to where it is at today," said Coach Thompson. "They are all very deserving of this honor to play in the State All-Star game."
