In his first and only year as a member of the Club, senior Jeff Filipski distinguished himself many times over.
He earned the "Most Improved Player" Award; he scored the last varsity goal of the year (in the state semis against New Trier), and now he's been named one of three Illinois High School Academic All Americans.
Jeff, who has been home-schooled by his parents, earned nothing but "A's" throughout high school and in two college semesters at Elgin Community College. He was named an Illinois State Scholar, and was accepted to his top three college choices, recieving the top scholarship available for two of the three, including a full academic ride to St. Ambrose.
Jeff will be enrolling in St Ambrose (in Davenport, Iowa), where he plans to major in marketing and business management. After he graduates he intends to return to the Chicago area to pursue his Master's degree.
And is lacrosse in his future? St Ambrose doesn't have a lacrosse club -- yet. As Jeff told us in his Senior Night remarks, he intends to start a lacrosse club there.
Good luck to Jeff in those and in all his endeavors. And congratulations on this most impressive honor.
