The Club is happy to announce that Coach Brian Hynes has agreed to coach the Junior Varsity/Freshman teams.
Coach Hynes is Head Coach of the St Charles North Sophomore Boys Basketball team, which currently is 13-4. He also served as Assistant Coach on the North Freshmen Football squad, whose undefeated A Team went 9-0 and whose B squad was 5-3-1.
Coach Hynes graduated from St Charles High School in 2000, where he was a football and track teammate of Head Varsity Coach Andy Thompson. At St Charles, Hynes earned All-Conference and All-Area honors in football, track and basketball, as well as All-State honors in track.
More awards followed at Winona State University. In 2005, his fifth and final year on the football team, Hynes led the nation in receiving yards per game (129.2 yards); led his team with 102 points scored on 17 TDs, and led the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference in average yards per game, total yards and total TDs. His 102 points scored also led the team, which finished 8-3 overall and 6-1 as conference Co-Champs.
That year, Hynes was named a First Team All American and was a finalist for the Harlon Hill Trophy, awarded to the Division II football player of the year. The award is named for the past Bears great.
As a former teammate and fellow coach, Coach Thompson calls Coach Hynes "a committed coach who likes working with high school players, and has a great attitude about the game."
Please join the Executive Board in welcoming Brian Hynes to our 2007 Coaching Staff.
