Coach Thompson named
DuPage 11 Conference
Frosh-Soph Coach of the Year

The Club is pleased to announce that Andy Thompson has accepted the Board’s invitation to be Head Varsity Coach!
Coach Thompson has been involved with the Club for many years, first as a player and then as a member of its coaching staff. Most recently, Coach Thompson led the combined JV/Freshman teams to a
very successful 2006 campaign, and was honored as the DuPage 11 Conference“2006 Freshman Coach of the Year”.
Prior to last season, Coach Thompson served as Assistant Coach for the Varsity Team in 2005, and Head JV Coach in 2004. That season, his first as a lacrosse coach, Coach Thompson led the St Charles JV to an unblemished 10-0 conference championship season, and an overall record of 16-5. The squad also capturd the inaugural Rocks on the Fox tournament with a thrilling 5-4 overtime win in the final.
Coach Thompson is a 2002 graduate of Elmhurst College where he lettered in Football and Track & Field, was recipient of the Pete Langhorst Award given to the football player best exemplifying the character and dedication coaches most value, and captained the Track & Field team his senior year. During his college career, Coach Thompson also was recognized by the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin as a recipient of the Mearle Chapman Award given to the outstanding student-athlete.
Coach Thompson is a 1999 graduate of District 303 where he was a three-year starter for the Varsity Lacrosse team and was the Club’s very first All-Conference Player. During his tenure, he was recognized twice as the Club’s Offensive Player of the year, and was a team captain. He also was a standout player on the Football and Track & Field teams, where
he was All-Conference and All-Area at the wide receiver position.
As Coach Thompson’s many accomplishments demonstrate, he brings to the Club
a wealth of experience and abilities. His achievements repeatedly exemplify a tradition of winning and achievement, but more importantly, a knowledge of the dedication a player must possess and demonstrate to succeed, and the proven ability to lead a group of young men to succeed in their efforts both on and off the field of play.
The Executive Board is very pleased Coach Thompson has chosen to accept the Head Varsity Coaching position, and to take on the challenge of leading the Club’s coaching staff. Please join the Executive Board in welcoming Andy Thompson as our new Head Varsity Coach!
