JV win "C"-saw battle

St Charles and Naperville North traded goals and momentum on Monday night, but when the final horn sounded it was StC on top 6-5 in its season opener at Benedictine University in Lisle.
Head JV Coach Peter Steele lauded the team's "great defense and solid goaltending," and the game was not without its offensive fireworks as well.
Soph Cooper O'Brien led StC with a trio of goals. Junior Nick Reilly and sophs Pat Lefelstein and Nick Ryan all added a single score each.
Frosh Spencer Motley matched Cooper's trio of goals with a hat trick of assists. Pat Leflestein had a pair of assists as well, and junior Cedric Hermann chipped in an assist of his own.
The game's final minute saw freshman Colin "Big C" Haley running out the clock, playing keep-away from the Huskies' triple-teaming defense. "A big shout-out to him," says Coach Steele, and a big shout-out to the JV for a thrilling win on a cold "Spring" night.
