About the Rangers:
From westsidelax.com
Dallas Jesuit had a breakthrough season last year, winning 14 more games than it had in 2006.
But last year's success will be extremely difficult to repeat after the Rangers graduated 14 seniors, including eight starters. Dallas Jesuit enters the 2008 season with two returning starters, both defensemen, and just six seniors on the varsity.
"We're a very, very young team," second-year head coach Chris Surran said. "We have a very large sophomore and junior class and quite a few freshmen will be on the varsity. We've got some talented kids, but they're very inexperienced. These kids need more experience, so hopefully by the end of the year we'll be as competitive as last year's team."
Dallas Jesuit will be led by junior defenseman Andy Ogden, junior defenseman Jory McVay and junior middie Sam Crain.
Surran described Ogden as a smart player who is fantastic on ground balls and plays strong position defense. McVay is tenacious and has a strong knowledge of the game, and Crain is a good dodger, good shooter and a powerfully strong player, Surran said.
