About the Scots:
From westsidelax.com
Highland Park II fielded what amounted to a JV team of sophomores and freshmen
in the THSLL Division II flight for the first time in 2007 and surprised the
state by advancing all the way to the state championship game.
Many of those players will undoubtedly graduate to the school's Division I team this season and try to make it to their second straight state-title game.
As for the Division II team, it will once again be comprised of players who get cut from the Division I team. Those cuts won't be made until January, and the team will most likely be made up of sophomores and freshmen once again. The good news for Highland Park II, and the bad news for Division II, is that Highland Park has one of the deepest Division I teams in the state.
Last season, Highland Park II compiled a 4-0 record against teams that it will face in the East Conference this season. The Fighting Scots downed Coppell twice, including in the North District semifinals, and they also knocked off Allen in the season opener and routed Plano East.
The only North District team that knocked off Highland Park II last season was Hillcrest in the regular season. But the Fighting Scots turned the tables on Hillcrest in the North District championship game.

Balanced attack leads StC to win

Ahead 3-2 at the half, StC scored three
quick goals to open the third quarter and beat Highland Park II 10-6 Tuesday night at Highlander Park in Dallas.
Chad Ellis led StC with three goals (two to open the second half), and seven other
players scored in a balanced attack.
"It was the best team game I've seen us play," said Co-Captain Madden Titus, whose goal in the second quarter put StC up 3-1.
Scoring also came from Co-Captains Sean Brogan and Cam Caruso, and from Paul De Bord, Ben Dvorak, Zach McCullough and Charlie Smunt. Sean Brogan also added three assists, and Cam Caruso, Paul De Bord and Chad Ellis had an assist each.
In goal, Sean McGushin had 13 saves, several on point-blank shots. Co-Captain Tyler Hines led an aggressive StC defense that won the ground-ball battle as well, and largely denied the Fighting Scots many long possessions.
