You can throw out the
record books when StC Blue plays StC Orange...mostly because there aren't any.
 Or at least there weren't until Wednesday, April 29. When the two Frosh-Soph teams faced off against each other on that raw, gray "Spring" day at East Side Sports Complex, it was the first time ever that two St Charles teams have met in regular-season conference play.
Not surprisingly for two teams who practice against each other every day, it was a close game. A 3-3 tie at the end of the first quarter turned into a 4-4 halftime score. Five more scores (three by Blue attackman Greg Erickson) in the second half netted a slim 7-6 Blue victory and bragging rights, if for but a moment, for Coach Shaun Falzone's team.
Because who knows? These teams could meet again in the Marmion Cadet Classic, or in the DuPage Conference Tournament. |
