2009-10 Club Board:
school relations & IHSA Transition
My wife, Sandy, and I are longstanding members of Community Unit School District 303. We have three boys: two who have graduated and one who will be a sophomore at St. Charles North.
We have been active supporters of St. Charles Lacrosse. Our son, Taylor, just completed his fourth year in the program this past spring and our youngest son, Matthew, just completed his first year with StC.
I feel my experience with the Club over the last four years along with my experience coaching football, basketball, and soccer in the community provides a good background to help continue the success the program has seen over the last several years.
Athletics is one of several great ways to teach our kids many of the life lessons they will need to become successful adults. I believe St. Charles Lacrosse provides our kids a way to play competitive lacrosse and build self-confidence and character to be successful in life. I believe I can help the Club continue to provide those values and goals for our kids. |

2009-10 Club Board:
operations
As a former lacrosse player myself, I still have the passion for the game and the desire to pass along my experience and knowledge to our youth and youth coaches.
I played lacrosse at a large, perennially competitive high school program as well as playing for a Division 1 program in college. Since hanging up my stick, I've been a director of both girls and boys programs in my previous residence in New York as well as coaching for seven years.
I served as Co-Coordinator for Operations on the 2008-09 and 08-10 Board. My son, Colin, is a member of the STC Lacrosse club, and will be a senior at St Charles East.
This is an exciting opportunity to help build upon the successful growth established by the STC lacrosse program to date. I look forward to making a positive impact. |
Dennis McGushin 2009-10 Club Board:
president
I have served on the St Charles Boys Lacrosse Board for the past five years, and led the Board as President the past two years.
My son, Patrick, begins his fourth year in the program next season.
I am a Managing Director with Bank of America. I have served on several boards and most recently served on the Executive Board of the Norris Cultural Arts Center for six years.
I have coached Tri-City football, Storm basketball, Wasco baseball, and Lacrosse America and Chicago Attack lacrosse for a combined 19 seasons.
Our program again made tremendous strides this past season both on the field and off and I am anxious to be a part of this continued direction. |

2009-10 Club Board:
fundraising & special events
I look forward to serving another year on the Board.
I believe I am uniquely qualified to serve the board as my husband, John, and I have been raising our five children in St. Charles for the past 15 years and have witnessed and participated in many private and school-related athletic and service organizations.
Our family has had many years of first-hand experience with:
Tri-City Football, St Charles Boys and Girls Age Group Swimming, St. Charles Girls Softball, St. Charles Boys Travel and "Rec" Baseball, Wasco Boys Baseball, St. Charles Boys Basketball and St. Charles East High School's teams of Baseball, Basketball, Football, Girls Swimming and Diving, Girls Track/Field and of course, Lacrosse.
I personally have participated in the following roles:
--Tri-City Family Services Annual Benefit Decorating Chair
--St. Charles East High School PTO Chair for Materials Pick-Up (two years)
--First Baptist Church "Mom's Together" Registration Chair (two years) & Children's Director (two years)
--Fox Valley Ice Arena "Rink
Rep" to Dupage Figure Skating Club.
Consequently, I am fully aware of the impact an organization can have on athletes, families and the community.
I appreciate the excitement and support our son Marcus and our family has received from the St. Charles Boys Lacrosse Club. I believe our Club can continue to expand this outreach to its families and to the entire community. This is an exciting time for Lacrosse in St. Charles and in the State of Illinois and I hope to use my knowledge and experience with other organizations to help the St. Charles Boys Lacrosse Club continue to be a positive influence and support to its members and the community. |
