St Charles goes 9-2 at North Shootout; Frosh Win Title

Dedicating their tournament to erstwhile teammate Steve Zwicker, who is recovering from surgery, the St Charles Frosh squad capped off a 4-0 run in the Lacrosse America 7-on-7 North Shootout with a double-overtime win in the title game against Lake Forest. Billy Rawson scored the game- and title-winner for the StC Frosh, who broke the huddle all day with a "1-2-3 Zwick!" chant.

St Charles also competed in the junior varsity and varsity brackets. The JV, under parent Coach Gary Campana, swept its round-robin games against Loyola, Northside Prep and Grayslake only to fall in the tourney semifinal 7-5 to Lake Forest. The Varsity, under volunteer Coach Graham Mabon, beat Vernon Hills and Lane Tech but lost to St Joseph's (Indiana) to miss out on the tourney playoffs.
