Did you meet the Wall Ball Challenge?

Varsity Coaches Thompson and Prodoehl encouraged all players to elevate their game during the off-season through the Wall Ball Challenge. The Challenge tests your stick skills through a set of simple drills. Developing your stick skills can make a huge difference in your game.

Just 20 minutes of Wall Ball every two days works wonders: With your short stick, wear gloves and stand five to 10 yards away from a wall. Put some velocity on the ball, and snap off sharp, crisp passes (not lame lobbers). At a minimum, varsity-level players should meet these expectations (jv-level should strive for 80%):

1. Two-hand throw & catch: 50 times, continuous, without dropping the ball, both right- and left-handed.

2. One-hand throw & catch: 25 times, continuous, without dropping the ball, both right- and left-handed.

3. Switching hands 25 times: Throw right & catch right, then switch hands and throw left & catch left. Alternate until you’ve completed 25.

Players were assessed at parent-run sessions from Feb 14 to 23 at St Charles Sportsplex. (For details, please download the flyer.)
