With a terrific combination of fierce defense and sharp ball movement, the St Charles Varsity defeated the Forsyth (NC) Furies 14-4 on Tuesday in the first game of the spring break trip.

Cam Caruso started the scoring within the game's first minute, off an assist by Thomas Feicco. Jim Adkins and Thomas then scored the next four goals, each netting a pair, and at the end of the first quarter the StC lead was
5-0. Goals by CJ Nemec and Dylan Ward in the second quarter increased the lead to 7-0 at halftime.

The Furies finally solved the aggressive St Charles defense and goalie Andy Forsell in the third quarter, but by then Conor Hamilton (right) had tallied twice and Dylan and Tim Dalrymple once each. CJ Nmec added a goal to finish off the third quarter scoring, and the teams entered the final frame with St Charles up 12-1. Forsyth scored three times in the fourth quarter, and Conor and Dylan added goals to make the final score 14-4.
