The Varsity used a fourth-quarter burst to beat Wheaton Warrenville South 9-5 on "Senior Day" Saturday at St Charles North Stadium.

Freshman Paul DeBord put StC on the board with his first goal of the season in the first quarter, and Dylan Ward followed with his first of three. But WWS had already netted four, and midway through the second the Varsity faced a 4-2 deficit.

A steal on the defensive end and a long clear to Thomas Feicco created a third StC score, as Thomas outduelled the WWS goalie one-on-one. CJ Nemec soon followed with a goal off the faceoff, and it was 4-4.

The second half began with WWS on top 5-4. The third quarter was scoreless, but CJ's second goal at 10:00 suddenly ignited an offensive explosion. Dylan scored moments later to make it 6-5, and then Sean Brogan fired one in from the left wing to make it 7-5. Dylan scored again, and Thomas finished the scoring with his second goal to put the game away 9-5.
